On the ground, bleeding
You hear a forgotten symphony; a song, a key,
a pitch you thought you'd never hear again
It approaches your body, it penetrates
your soul with tissue-lacerating strength
A warmth so distant it feels cold, so beautiful
you can’t appreciate at first sight
In the darkness it controls your motions and
your thoughts before you go to sleep are overruled
Like a beating it catches your beating heart off guard
and leaves it on the ground, bleeding, scarred
A different voice that strikes the same chord
with unknown cadance; an unknown sound
Symbolic, not symmetrical; symbiotically evolving,
a cringing melody that becomes an unsung symphony
